Green sandpiper (Tringa ochropus) wading in muddy water. This migratory bird breeds across subarctic Europe and Asia. It migrates in southern Europe, Asia and tropical Africa. It feeds on small invertebrates and females lay up to 4 eggs, which hatch in around three weeks. Photographed in Kent, UK, in August.
