Germany, Eisenach: Detail of the Mosaic Room "Elisabethenkemenate" in the Palas of Wartburg Castle


The Elisabethenkemenate was the former room of Saint Elisabeth of Hungary. She was married with King Ludwig I. and lived in the Wartburg Castle in the 13th century. She is until nowadays the most popular saint in Thüringen. The room is covered with small mosaic stones with scenes of Elisabeth´s life. Here is to see the marriage of the young royals.
