Ferrograph Series 7 reel-to-reel tape recorder. Built late 1960s-early 1970s. Shown with recording heads and control panel covers open.

This unit has been modified by the owner for use with an Imatronic SX3000 dual projector slide dissolve system for audio-visual presentations. There is an extra non-standard switch at the right hand side of the lower control panel. This combined the two stereo audio inputs into one mono signal which was recorded on to one track. The other track was used to record a control signal which, on playback through the Imatronic unit, controlled the two projectors. This provided a controlled fade between the two projected images which was sychronised with the sound signal, which could be music, voice or both.
