Protective Fence Surrounding the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Unsung Founders Memorial as Protection against further Vandalism

Dedicated in 2005, this gift of the class of 2002 honors the work of "The People of Color Bound and Free" to build UNC. Made of polished granite and bronze, it was designed by Korean artist Do-Ho Suh. It stands 100 meters from the Confederate soldier "Silent Sam" statue in McCorkle Place. After the memorial was defaced with paint, the protective fence was installed.
