Koehler As architectural drawing is more decorative and artistic thanmechanical, so architectural lettering must also lean toward thedecorative and artistic, to be in harmony with the drawing. Both slant and vertical lettering are used; each having itsadvantage and disadvantage. The slant type is adapted to speedand medium class of work, the vertical to a more decorated andhigher class of work. As will be noticed on the copy, the letteris composed of the straight line and the circle, making it a verysimple and effective style of lettering. Students will be held tothis one style of letter for the first term only, when they willbegin to pick up letters of their own and which will finally lead tothe student having an alphabet showing individuality. In no case,however, should a single letter be so far away from the acceptedform that it would not be recognized without the companion lettersat its side. Architectural lettering is made
