Blyth Harbour Windfarm, at the Port of Blyth, Northumberland, UK. Wind power is a renewable and clean source of energy for electricity production. The wind turns the blades, and this drives a turbine to generate electricity. These nine (MW) wind turbines (seven seen here) were erected in 1992. They are WindMaster turbines and are metres tall. A proposal in 2008 was made to replace these turbines with seven new ones, one of which would be 163 metres tall. The site capacity would increase from megawatts (MW) of power to MW.
