This year, on September 10th, the largestflock still with us numbered 48 birds, and theremay have been another 20 birds scatteredabout the different bays. ; L OLSON 18 BIRDS OF THE WATER The Scaups breeding^ season extends overmany months, the first lot of little ducklingsappearing last year on November 27th, andwithin a few days, several other broods,also just hatched, were noticed on the lake.
