Bedford, UK. 12th March, 2016. Detainees held inside the Yarl's Wood immigration detention centre came to the windows of the building as a large protest outside called for all detention centres to be closed. They shouted and held messages up at the windows and on items of clothing threaded on rods through the narrow openings complaining about their treatment and calling for help, waved towels and scarves and some threw out various objects. The protesters outside managed to contact several detainees on mobile phones. Peter Marshall/Alamy Live News
