A French silver-hilted small-sword, Strasbourg, 1766 A double-edged thrusting blade of flattened hexagonal section with etching on both sides at the forte bearing remnants of gilding. Silver hilt with double shell-guard decorated in relief, and stamped "P" beneath a fleur-de-lys (for Strasbourg 1766). Silver wire grip wrapping with cast Turk's heads. Sewn leather scabbard with silver mountings (chape glued).
