The salivary glands in the carnivorous Dasyures consist of asmall parotid and a large submaxillary gland on each side. Theydo not agree with the dogs in having the zygomatic glands. Thesubmaxillary is placed in front of the neck, so that its duct passeson the dermal side of the tendon of the biventer maxillae, andterminates half an inch from the symphysis menti.
