There was a time when this would not have been noticed, but of late they have become popular and the demand has steadily increased. Bedding Plants. But, while the cut flower market was all shot to pieces, the man who had good bedding plants was having his inning. The season at this writing is just open- ing and, judging from the stock avail- able and the prices at which bedding plants are being sold, the season is go- ing to be a short one. It seems that most of those who, at one time, devoted their entire attention to bedding plants have been attracted by the high prices of cut flowers and have turned at least part of their glass into the production of cut flowers. This makes bedding stock scarce and the demand is increasing each year. Bedding plants will certainly have to have more attention, for, at the prices now obtainable, they are certainly a pay- ing proposition. For instance, the writer saw geraniums, good stock to be sure, in 4-inch pots, for which 40 cents was paid. When we think of the thou- sands that have been sold at $1 per dozen, even with the advanced cost of production, there should be a splendid margin of profit in these. Various Notes. The Flower Mart is going to be held May 12, at the base of Washington's monument. The Florists' Club is going to cooperate with the Women's Civic
