Depth of body 12 to 15 times in total length, length of head 7 to 8^ times. Vent slightly nearer caudal than end of snout, its distance from head 2f to 3 times length of latter. Snout 3 to 4 times as long as eye, ending in an appendage which is 1^ (o 2 times as long as eye ; mouth extending to below anterior border or anterior third of eye; no prseorbital or prseopercular spines. Dorsal XXVII-XXIX 95-100; spines increasing in length to the last, which is 1^ length of eye ; distance between first spine and head ^ length of latter. Anal 11 85-90. Caudal rounded.
