Thousands of people line the Belgrave Road, also known a s the Golden Mile during the opening night of the Diwali celebrations in Leicester. Leicester's celebration of Diwali is renowned for being one of the biggest outside of India. The Festival of Light is one of the highlights of the city's cultural calendar, and gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy the incredible light display, fireworks and food and even take a ride on the wheel of light.
