The treatment consists in free excision of the urethra and theinguinal glands on both sides. If a portion of the proximal end of theurethra can be saved, it should be stitched to the anterior vaginal wall,but in such cases incontinence of urine usually results. If the sphincterof the bladder is injured or partially removed in the operation, the neckof the bladder should be closed and a permanent suprapubic fistulaestablished. Sarcoma of the Urethra is very rare ; up to 1911 only fourteen caseshad been recorded. Two of these occurred in women over fifty yearsof age an
