Medical Uses.—Dwarf Elder is well calculated to obviateobstructions, or excess of the bile, viscous, or attenuated mu-cus,—likewise relieves female complaints, redness and inflam-mation of the eyes, scalds, and burns, colic, and gravel com-plaints, inveterate and fistulous ulcers. It is highly valuable to void the extravasated water of thedropsy,—for the cure of this disorder, drink freely of the de-coction of Dwarf Elder combined with white wine. ELDER.—{Samhicus canadensis.{Properties.)—Alterative, Diuretic, IjTervine, Sudorific. Medical Uses.—The expressed juice of the leaves, or thedistilled water of the flowers, remedies inflamed or bloodshot. RuBus Strigosus, (Red Raspberry.)
