Ramayana frieze depicting Rama and his court at the east entrace of Angkor Wat, the largest Hindu temple complex in the world. The temple was built by King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century and was the capital of the Khmer Empire. It was originally Hindu, then became Buddhist. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and is the country's prime attraction for visitors.
