The map shows part of the alps falling mainly within the eastern part of the Hautes-Alpes departement. Places marked on the map include the following towns and present-day winter sports/ski resorts (spelling may vary from the modern variation): Briançon, Mont-Dauphin, Montgenèvre, l'Argentiere-les-Ecrins, Guillestre, Vars, Les Orres, Risoul, Embrun, Acceglio
