A portrait of Prince Albert Edward from 1860. Born at Buckingham Palace in 1841, the eldest son and second child of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. He was created the Prince of Wales on 8 December 1841 and became King Edward VII following the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.
