The first president was the well-known Hun-garian portraitist, Miklos Barabas, but he onlyheld office for a very short time, becoming vice-president in favour of Count Julius Andrassy, thefamous statesman, who remained president of thesociety till his death, a period of forty-five the Counts presidency the society
