[Hugh] Forbes of the Harper's Ferry 'disclosures' notoriety, quitted New-York for Liverpool in the early part of November last. He left in the ship John Bright, under an assumed name, wearing a false beard and mustache, and otherwise disguised, and gave out that he was going to Canada. His assigned reasons for recrossing the Atlantic were, first, an apprehension that he might receive a not-to-be disputed requisition for his presence in Washington; second, that his personal safety and even existence, was endangered by the enmity and apprehension of the persons implicated by his 'disclosures;' third, a disgust for all 'humanitarians,' and Yankees. He proposes remaining in London, there to await an opportunity for resuming his former avocation of amateur Italian patriot and revolutionist.
