YOKOSUKA, Japan – The 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) moves to a new position pier side at after leaving dry dock at Fleet Activities (FLEACT) Yokosuka. Blue Ridge is in an extensive maintenance period in order to modernize the ship to continue to serve as a robust communications platform in the 7th Fleet area of operations. FLEACT Yokosuka provides, maintains, and operates base facilities and services in support of 7th Fleet’s forward-deployed naval forces, 71 tenant commands, and 27,000 military and civilian personnel.
