Plaque memorial for Construction Driver 3rd Class Richard T. Williams, Navy Seabees, whose D-8 tractor broke through the ice in 1956, during "Operation Deep Freeze I. He plunged 350 fathoms to the bottom of McMurdo Sound, his body never recovered. Next to the plaque is Roll Cage Mary, the Virgin Mary protected within a roll cage. Ross Island, McMurdo Sound and McMurdo Station, Antarctica.
