Impressive facade of the Bulguksa Temple, a masterpiece of Silla architecture and stonework, the head temple of Jogye Buddhism in South Korea.


The stonework is original from the 7th century, but the wooden components have been rebuilt many times since the original construction. The temple is situated on the slopes of , and on a rainy day such as this it is a very atmospheric site, the mists rising on the mountain. You can easily spend a day here exploriing all the buildings and gardens of the temple.
