Mount Vodice (SLO) WWI : the monument in memory of General Novak Von Arienti, an Austrian commanding officer who was wounded for the third time on mount Vodice. The site was named Novak Platz. Children used to follow that symple and cheerful man, covered with scars, because his pockets were always full of candies. Today it is difficult to think of him as the hero of Plave and Zagora, who was knighted and deserved the Order of Maria Teresa cross.
