The earlier meetings were held at the office of the October, 1870, the Commissioners met in one of thelower rooms of the new Court House on Independence Squareuntil September, 1871, with the exception of a few meetingsheld at the Architects office, to examine plans, &c. In Sep-tember, 1871, rooms were rented for the use of the Commis-sioners in the second story of No. 1107 Chestnut Street, andoccupied for a month, when the Commissioners removed torooms in the second story of No. 1103 Chestnut Street. InNovember, 1872, the premises No. 1408 S. Penn Square, andopposite the site of the Buildings, were rented and are nowoccupied as the offices and place of meeting of the
