Italy: The shrine of the Christian Mystic Blessed Anna Maria Taigi, San Crisogono (Basilica di San Crisogono), Piazza Sidney Sonnino, Rome. The Basilica di San Crisogono is dedicated to the martyr Saint Chrysogonus and was originally built in the 4th century under the auspices of Pope Sylvester (285 - 335). Anna Maria Taigi (1769 - 1837), born Anna Maria Giannetti, was an Italian Roman Catholic professed member from the Secular Trinitarians. Taigi experienced a series of ecstasies during her life and was reported to have heard the voices of God and Jesus Christ on several occasions.
