Carved bamboo cup in the form of a magnolia tree, China, c1662-c1722. Cup from the Qing dynasty, Kangxi period, carved as a section of a magnolia tree with branches of magnolia flowers in bloom and bud. Comparable with rhino horn carvings of the same subject.
