Personnel with the Colorado State University Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands who are under contract with the post conduct a lupine flower mapping survey May 19, 2021, on South Post at Fort McCoy, Wis. The lupine is the main flower that feeds the endangered Karner Blue butterfly, which thrives at Fort McCoy. For many years Fort McCoy has been at the center of study for the Karner. The work is coordinated through the Fort McCoy Directorate of Public Works Environmental Division Natural Resources Branch.
