Honeybee dance. Diagram showing a honeybee using its waggle dance to convey the location of food to the other honeybees surrounding it. When a foraging honeybee has found food it returns to the hive and dances a figure of eight (red line). The orientation of the central line of the dance indicates the position of the food source in relation to the Sun, while any waggles of the bee's body show the food's distance. Bees are highly social insects found throughout the world. They are kept by humans for the honey they produce.
