New York: MISSION HOUSE, 23 CENTRE STREET, 187 THIRTY-SIXTH ANNUAL REPORT. The Board of Foreign Missions reports to the General Assemblya general prosperity during the year in all its various fields. Though returns of accessions to the membership of the churcheshave not been made in all the Missions, an increase is shown oftwelve per cent, on the number of communicants of the previousyear. Missions have been commenced under favorable circumstances inMexico, where the spirit of inquiry seems to exist in a remarkabledegree. Though in the midst of persecutions in many places, thelittle congregations have evinced a steadfast determination to main-tain their free Protestant convictions, and to fulfil all duties. The Board has also decided to offer its support to the Missions inChili, formerly carried on by the American and Foreign ChristianUnion. Greatly increased aid has been received during the year from thevarious Womans Societies throughout the church, and it is believedthat,
