Percy Tomb, Beverley Minster, East Riding of Yorkshire, c1955-c1980 Detail of the top of the ogee arch on the choir-facing side of the Percy Tomb. The central sculpture showing a large figure of Christ receiving the soul of the person whom the tomb commemorates, is at the apex of the ogee arch on the choir-facing side of the tomb. On either side of the statue of Christ are two angelic figures with large wings at their backs, holding instruments in the right hands. They are both stood on octagonal plates supported by crouching figures that are connected wo the sides of the arch. The figure on the right side has a broken left hand, which is missing from the wrist. The identity of the person commemorated in this tomb is unclear, although it is likely that she is Lady Eleanor, wife of Lord Percy, who died 1328. The tomb was constructed in 1336.
