At the end ofthe second week, the student is assigned atotally edentulous patient and, during the nexttwo weeks, completes diagnosis, treatmentplanning and implant insertion. Four monthslater, the student returns to perform secondstage surgical abutment connection. Duringthe final three weeks, s/he completes therestorative phase of treatment, follow-up andmaintenance. Leon Dogon, , , of Operative DentistryDepartment Head Department Description The Department of Operative Dentistry isresponsible for teaching Dental Anatomy,Preclinical Operative Dentistry, OralHygiene, Clinical and Advanced ClinicalOperative Dentistry, Dental Materials, andaspects of Preventive Dentistry to predoctoralstudents. Instruction is given by means oflectures, discussions, seminars, and individualchair-side instruction. Audio-visual aids,including closed circuit television, are usedextensively.
