A Persian shamshir, first half of the 19th century. Sturdy single-edged blade of wootz-Damascus with a brass-inlaid signature "Work from Isfahan" as well as a later gold-inlaid cartouche on the obverse side. Iron quillons bearing remnants of gold inlay and with lateral dragon heads. Riveted horn-grip scales with iron grip strap and pommel cap.
