Former Congressman Ken Hechler Speaks at Rally Against Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining

Blair, West Virginia - Former West Virginia Congressman Ken Hechler speaks to a rally opposing the coal-mining technique known as mountaintop removal, in which the tops of mountains are sliced off to get at the underlying coal. After the rally, participants marched to the top of Blair Mountain, site of a historic 1921 battle between coal miners and the industry's hired gunmen.
