"Al-Ain" "Palace Museum", UAE - dusk (Al Ain)
Gates on exit in the early evening. Located in the South East of the City of "Al-Ain", "The Palace Museum" was the former palace of the late "HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan", President of the UAE and dates back to 1937. Restoration work ^started in 1998. Visitors to "Al-Ain", an oasis, will find this a highly rewarding visit. "The Palace Museum" with its wonderfully picturesque defensive walls towers guarding the main gate offer visitors a chance to spend several hours exploring this complex. [Areas inside include the ^family-residence, Courts, Grand Court Tent and Gardens]. [Construction materials used are the traditional ones - Mud, milk, plaster, stones, straw and palm tree trunks] If planning a trip to the UAE, Al-Ain is well worth a if possible, a longer stay in this delightful area. Note: Only a short drive from Dubai.
