Geologists and ejecta from Kilauea eruption, May 1924. Group of geologists standing by a 10-ton rock ejected 1070 metres from the centre of Halemaumau Crater on the volcano of Kilauea on 18 May 1924. The rock has created an impact crater on an air strip. The geologists are Tai Sing Loo, Oliver Emerson, and John Stokes. Kilauea is the most active of the volcanoes on Hawaii.
