The West-East Natural Gas Pipeline in China
Chinese engineers talk in front of a section of PetroChina's (CNPC) West-East Gas Pipeline built over the Yellow River in Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, in 2005. The West-East Gas Pipeline starts at Lunnan in Xinjiang Autonomous Region and ends at Baihe Town in Shanghai. It travels through 10 provincial regions including Xinjiang, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai. The full length of the pipeline is about 4000km with a designed annual throughput capacity of 12 billion cubic meters, a delivery pressure of 10Mpa and 35 processing stations along the pipeline.
