She compiled in 1905 a genealogy of the de-scendants of Rev. John Eliot, the Apostle to the Indians,from whom she is descended. He graduated at Williams College in 1865; studiedmedicine a year with Dr. David W. Miner in Ware;graduated at Harvard Medical School in 1868. Wasassistant physician in the Michigan Asylum for the In-sane till 1877; after a period of foreign study and travelhe settled at Detroit, Mich. Is a specialist in mentaland nervous diseases; is also on the staff of HarpersHospital, the Childrens Hospital and St. JosephsRetreat, and clinical professor of nervous diseases in theDetroit College of Medicine. He furnished the account of his branch of the Emersonfamily for Dr. Linn Emersons book
