Unwatered Palm trees bend in half and have an erie similarity to elephant trunks
Unwatered palm trees inflicted with severe drought bend over in death into a parched desert floor. This eerie black and white image captures the devastation drought can have even on these normally festive trees which are known for thriving in drier conditions. The bent trees have an abstract resemblence to elephant trunks, both in their shape and texture. The scene evokes a sense of great destruction, as if an apocolypse or nuclear war has ravaged the earth. The sandy dirt seems to suck the trees back into the earth in an attempt to regenerate itself. In the background, the distance reveals nothing but open plain and desolation. Also search Jeff Smith and Fotosmith for similar images.
