The plants form strong, branching bushes, 2 to 2| feet high, bearing on long strong stems their handsome I^ Chrysanthemum-like flowers, which, under ordinary cultivation, average 5 inches across. The form of the flowers, shown in the illustration on page 69, to- gether with the length of the stems, places them at the head of Asters for cutting. They come into bloom from two to three weeks after the average type, usually being at their best during September and October, and filling in the gap between the general run of Asters and Chrysanthemums, and if only one variety of Asters is ' wanted, we recommend this type as the most likely to give the greatest satisfaction.
