Former Victorian country home of Abraham Henthorn Stott whose architectural firm Stott & Sons designed cotton mills in Oldham, Lancashire. After being sold when the cotton industry collapsed a twist of fate allowed Brian Henthorn Stott to reacquire the former family estate, running it as a working farm and developing a nature reserve.
