Osman Hamdi Bey is of little importance for the development of Turkish archeology and museum landscapes - much more than for Turkish painting, especially as he was an artist in French and after 1882 he did not show his works in Turkey. Today, however, he is the most famous Turkish painter of his time. The "Turkish street scene" shows the fascinating ingredients of his art: in front of a niche of a well-known historical fountain building in Constantinople
