Temperature inland of the town reached 23 degrees centigrade, reportedly making the area the warmest place in Europe today Each evening between October and March tens of thousands of the birds fly in huge murmurations in the sky above the town before settling to roost for the night on the cast iron legs of the Victorian seaside pier.
