Virgin London Marathon charity runners, Red Start Greenwich Park London “We’re raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, Penny and I ran in this horse last year, and it took us a long time but we raised a lot of money for charity. This year Doreen is running with us to help us go a bit faster. We hope to do it in less than 6 hours if we can, last year it took 7 hours and 48 minutes. I got my friends to help me because I’m commemorating my mum Grace Acott who lost her life to cancer in January, but, she had lots of treatment from the Royal Marsden, successful treatment for over forty years, from when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer” - Karen Shrimpton with her friends Doreen Waterson and Penny Pattern
