Bodh Gaya is a major Buddhist pilgrimage site in India, known for the Bodhi tree under which the Buddha gained enlightenment.

The interior of the Mahabodhi temple houses a statue of the Buddha sitting crosslegged with a crystal bowl in his lap, facing east in what is believed to be the location where he originally attained englightenment.
