Italy, Milan, Milan Cathedral, Flying Buttresses

Flying Buttresses had an important architectural and decorative element in Gothic architecture. In the Milan Cathedral, on their upper side, they also have the function of collecting the rainwater from the terraces into the gargoyles along the perimeter and are decorated by two parapets with sculptural motifs.
