Montana outranked Iowa on six of the eight principal crops grown in the north-ern states on the average production per acre for the decade.

Every farm manage-ment survey that has been made in the country has demonstrated that the most suc-cessful farmers, those making the largest net incomes, are those whose crops areabove the average for the community. If this rule can be applied to the country,when Montana farmers emerge from the development stage they will be more suc-cessful and prosperous than the majority of farmers in the principal northern cropproducing states. So
