Shiite Muslims take part in the mourning rituals during a religious procession ahead of the Ashura day between the shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas. Muharram is considered a month of mourning and remembrance for Shiite Muslims around the world, in which they commemorate the martyrdom of the grandson of the Islamic prophet Mohammad, Hussein ibn Ali, who was killed in the 7th century Battle of Karbala.
