Since they are caused by wound parasites, the removal of diseased trees and the destruction of sporophores is recommended. Cedar canker (Phoma sp.). — This canker is found on juniper and arbor-vitae. Injury apparently occurs only on trees under four years old. Prior to that age entire seed beds may be destroyed.
