No-thing in the world presents a more striking contrast to thejumbled, noisy scenery of a great town ; and this being thecase, it seems to us that to place buildings on the beach isconsciously to sacrifice the most refreshing characteristic of asea-beach, and the most valuable element in the peoples pro-perty therein.
